Camping

Campers are welcome at Frog & Fern but due to limited parking areas and the scarcity of flat ground, only three tent sites are available.  (Max 8 people) This is not a spacious camping site by any means but you will enjoy safe parking, stone braai, private boma, kitchenette, clean toilet and hot shower.

22o volts and square pin plugs available in the kitchenette – when there is power……

The cost for camping is $10 for adults and $8.00 for children Under 12yrs.

Due to the  small size of the camping area only one camping group is accepted at a time so you are well advised  to book  the site in advance. e mail or phone: +263 775 920 440

Mzanje Cabin and Tent Site: A good option is  to book Mzanje Cottage and tent site. Mzanje costs $35pppn (min two pax) but gives you an extra shower & loo as well as an inside jetmaster fireplace in case of cold or wet weather.  Mzanje has a useful kitchen with fridge and one double bedroom.  So a group of four/five can set up a tent in Mzanje garden area, two/three folk camp whilst the others use the cottage.  The campers shower and loo is conveniently situated behind Mzanje Cottage.

Mzanje Verandah

  • Mzanje, Camping Option
  • Bring your own charcoal. Firewood and washing powder are on sale. Washing can be done for you whilst you are in the mountains.  A couple of friendly dogs, cats and horses wander about the gardens so please keep the lids on your cooler boxes firmly closed!

Also note that no large Overland trucks or caravans can be accommodated. 4×4 private vehicles are recommended as the last 1.5km to Frog & Fern is horrible, rough gravel road.

    One Response to Camping

    1. Peter + Colleen McNulty says:

Camping at Frog + Fern was great; from the bathroom, kitchenette, braai pit to the cosy campers room all fantastic. Pity we couln’t stay longer. Cottages looked lovely as well as Dee’s paintings on display – a very talented lady. Four legged rescued pets also great company. Thanks for the lovely drinking water, Jane.
We can highly recommend the Frog + Fern to travellers needing a comfortable place to stay.
